On November 26^th 2008, one more terror attack woke up India. This time around, the terrorists openly challenged our integrity, our security, and our responsibilities. Is there anyone, they asked, who can challenge their authority?

The answer was given by several of our soldiers who rose to the occasion and fought with heroic courage. A few of them made the ultimate sacrifice for the honour of our country. India sent a clear message to the terrorists and the world that India has the power and the zeal within and can reply back to anyone who challenges its security; be it a terrorist gang or our neighbouring countries.

The www.sandeepunnikrishnan.org web site is dedicated to the memory of one of those heroes – Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan who laid down his life during the Mumbai attacks. The brave son of the soil whose last words to his mates were – ‘’Do not come up, I’ll handle them’’. The purpose of the web site is not limited to praising the bravery of Major Sandeep and alike but to aim, work, and succeed in taking their mission forward and see India at the helm of success.

We have already started off; a community dedicated to Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan on the social networking site, Orkut, has moved beyond just discussion and criticism. We have drawn lines where we can do something significant for ourselves and for our community, and later our country. Thus, our ideas gave birth to Mission Sandeep.

Mission Sandeep is still budding with dreams of changing the views and thoughts of a common man in India. After all, it is us who can either make or break our country.
